REBEL RECORD-BREAKER. //

Ever wanted to sit on a static bike for 24hours? Neither did Kate Strong, until she realised that no female had ever attempted it.

Always looking for ways to disrupt, Kate embarked on a personal challenge with the intention to set a new world record in the process.

Kate isn’t new to rebellious acts; she’s an ex Mechanical Engineer turned entrepreneur turned sports model turned World Champion triathlete. She likes to shake it up.

So what made her want to pedal for 24 hours straight on a static bike?

“It’s all about stepping up and doing something that scares you. The scarier the better: It makes me feel alive and prove that anyone can do anything with the right mindset.”

Working full-time as a Ethical Entrepreneur & Coach to people & companies throughout the world, she decided to add training for a 24-hour cycle challenge to her already busy week. After a rigorous training regime and smashing out lots of HIIT sessions to improve her cardio and endurance, she started cycling and didn't stop (for 24 hours).

Kate absolutely smashed it. She cycled 292 miles in 24 hours and was the world’s first female to do this.

Kate has highlighted her 5 top tips for anyone wanting to up their game and take their fitness to the next level:

  1. Set an insanely high goal: This is not the time to dumb-down your dreams, this is time to step up and start dreaming big.

  2. Start believing in yourself: Most people talk themselves down. Don’t be like most people. Start talking the talk. Believe that you can do it and that you're going to do it no matter what.

  3. Walk the walk: OK, so you’ve convinced yourself you can do this, now it’s time to start training for it. Remember, train smart & focus on quality over quantity. You don’t have to run a marathon to run a marathon, but you do have to get close to your target.

  4. Keep on track: Goals are multi-dimensional and you might need to think about other areas in your life: What else do you need to think about, nutrition? mindset? work? Start planning your time to make sure you don’t forget something.

  5. Fill in the gaps: Write a plan and stick to it. If you are one to get easily distracted hire someone to keep you focused on what you’ve committed to do. Don’t skimp out on getting to your goal, it’ll be worth it in the end.

The journey doesn’t stop there. Guinness World Records haven't yet confirmed the record and so Kate is attempting it again in March 2017. Rebels don't give up.
